I was so happy to get back to the Oregon Horse Center in Eugene for the National Mountian Trail Championship! Having attended in 2009 with my mare Lillie and being so incredibly sucessful then loosing her to colic was a devastating blow that took me two years to recover from, although I will never really recover from loosing her and not a day goes by that I do not miss her. I took my very special boy Pride who is an Anglo-Arab and came to me with deep emotional issues. We helped each other to heal and bury the past. I am blessed to have such a willing partner and his try made him a champion in my heart!
From the spectators point of view you see a horse and rider meandering through a manmade trail at the Oregon Horse Center, looks simple eh? Well what you don't see is that every step of the way is patterned , step on these rocks, cross at this exact point, the judges are very specific in there course and looking for exact placement. There are 20 obstacles to navigate and remember. This is a great challenge for both horse and rider and the necessary elements to be sucessful are Balance, Athletic, Responsive and Willing partners, the attributes of a BAR W RANCH trained horse and rider!!
We have put together a training course here at the Bar W Ranch to learn, practice and perpare for events such as the ones in Eugene, I can train you and your horse to be safe, sucessful and have fun competing at mountian trail, trail trials or show trail. Become a Bar W Balanced, Athletic, Responsive and Willing team and go out there and conquer the trail!! Contact us for a consultation!
